The Ty2 series steam locomotives of the Polish State Railways were in service from 1942. They are wartime locomotives of the 52 series of the German Reichsbahn. After the Second World War, 1,207 locomotives of this series remained with the PKP. Until the end of steam traction, the Ty2 was the largest locomotive series in Poland. Several locomotives of this series have survived to this day.
