The locomotives and cars for which between Vienna Mitte and the Vienna-Schwechat Airport commuter City Airport Train trains are designed in a special design. As a result of the introduction of ETCS at the ÖBB, there has been a shortage of appropriately equipped dual-frequency locomotives. Since the single-system version of the Taurus is sufficient for the CAT, the 1116 series locomotives were replaced by the 1016 014 and 036 at the end of 2012.
