-cast metal. Designated as Class 77 by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), this passenger train tender locomotive was procured in several series from 1913 (SB/kkStB Rh 629) until 1927. The Pacific-type 2'C1' h2t steam locomotive was approved for a maximum speed of 85 km/h. With full water tanks and coal bunkers, a range of up to 200 km could be achieved. Virtually every train service in Austria was at some point equipped with Class 77 locomotives.
The later 77.14 was delivered to the BBÖ in 1922 as 629.29 with the works number 4379 by the StEG machine factory. After an eventful fifty years, it was decommissioned in November 1972.
