Since 2018, DPB Rail Infra Service GmbH has been authorized to provide freight transport services as an independent railway undertaking. To further develop freight transport, the first three of six ordered Vectron MS locomotives of variant A17 were put into service in 2024. The new vehicles are used for construction site logistics as well as for national and international freight train services.
