Due to their distinctive design and enormous performance, the Class 103 locomotives quickly became the flagship of the DB.
Only two examples of the Class 103 are preserved in working order at the DB Museum in Koblenz. The 103 113 in its red-frame livery, which it was the first of its kind to receive in 1977. This locomotive is used on selected AKE Rheingold runs.
