Diesel locomotive T 478 1184 of the Czechoslovak State Railways.
■ Version of the 3rd production series with corrugated side walls up to the roof edge
■ Finely detailed model with many separately applied parts
The T 478.1 series was a diesel-electric universal locomotive of the CSD (Czechoslovak State Railways). A total of 230 locomotives of the T 478.1 series were delivered between 1966 and 1971. A built-in steam heating boiler provided train heating. The projecting overhead extensions below the front windows quickly earned it the nickname "Bardotka," after Brigitte Bardot, the French actress.
The locomotives went through several color variations over time. From the mid-1970s, the first standardized color scheme was implemented for CSD diesel vehicles. The locomotive body was painted cherry red, while the roof and chassis were gray.
