The so-called diving goggles or goggles snake were developed and built at CKD in Prague. The T 478.3 series (from 1988 series 753) was delivered to the CSD from 1970 onwards and, with 408 locomotives, dominated traffic on the non-electrified main lines. Due to the lack of locomotives with electric train heating, over 100 locomotives were converted with them from 1991 onwards. The Reko locomotives received the new series designation 750 with the same serial number.
