After testing a prototype, fourteen series machines were put into operation from 1991 and stationed in the Děčín locomotive depot.With the founding of the CD Cargo freight division in 2007, nine locomotives were allocated to the new company. Thanks to the fact that until 2016 they were the only locomotives from ČD Cargo that could be used on the German railway network, all locomotives were gradually modernized and painted in the new company colors.In addition to the main area of ​​application for the Transport trains at the Děčín/Bad Schandau border crossing (and on to Dresden and Leipzig), they are occasionally used in domestic traffic and also reach the border stations to Poland.
