The former leasing company CB Rail S.à rl, based in Luxembourg, was the second customer to place an order with Bombardier for 25 TRAXX MS2e (multi-system) locomotives. Ten of these locomotives were to be equipped with the DA-CH-I country packages. Upon delivery to CB Rail, the ten locomotives were numbered 186 901–910. The locomotives were sold to Macquarie European Rail in 2013 and to the current owner, Akiem, in 2020.

Locomotives 186 901–910 were the first TRAXX F140 MS2e locomotives with Swiss approval to be used in commercial operation. In early 2008, the first seven locomotives, numbered 186 901–907, appeared in regular Swiss service. CB Rail leased the light gray and white Class 186 locomotives to the Swiss company Crossrail AG. Numbers 186 908–910 were leased to the Italian company Linea SpA and used for domestic Italian freight services. These three locomotives also switched to Crossrail in April 2014.

The entire fleet remained leased to Crossrail until 2017, after which they were leased to TXL for a further three years, bearing the CR logo. From 2021 onwards, the locomotives were transferred to SBBCI, at which point the last locomotives lost their Crossrail markings. Locomotive 186 905 was the only one to retain its white operating number on the front from delivery until the very end. The Crossrail lettering remained on the locomotive until the end of 2020.
