Novelty 2025: From 1977 to 1980, the company Cegielski from Poznan delivered a total of 200 electric double locomotives for the heavy goods train service of the Polish State Railways PKP under the series designation ET 41. The high-performance locomotives were created by combining two locomotives each, which were based on the design of the one-piece EU 07. Instead of the drivers cabs now missing at the close-coupling ends, ballast was used to increase the friction mass. The frame was simplified and reinforced for goods train service. In everyday operation, the ET 41 was used in a wide range of applications, proving its worth to this day, especially in heavy mountain service in southern Poland.
